This was an old post, like the other that you commented on. I appreciate your looking through the archives. I&#039;m of a mixed mind about guns. I guess I&#039;d rather no human, anywhere, have access to them. I don&#039;t think even the sanest among us should be trusted with such destructive power. But given that guns are a fact of life in the USA, I find it discriminatory that I lost my right to own one because I sought help. I understand your suggestion that you are safer not being able to purchase one, and that&#039;s the other side of the controversy. I don&#039;t have a perfect answer, and can see both sides. 

But discrimination against those with mental health histories is real and often cannot be justified in any way beyond prejudice and fear. That was my larger point.

Personally, I prefer to believe that it is impossible.   That way, when my mood plunges, that&#039;s one more roadblock between me and a &quot;successful&quot; suicide.</description>
