Thank you. I put a lot of effort into trying to run a recent version of IE on my MAC without buying Windows, but failed. It turned out to be simpler to just ask for feedback. I may put up a brief survey soon to explore ideas for where to go with my blog. I appreciate your help and your readership.

The background color of the roots is the same as the rest of the page - no square of a different color. Cheers Freda

Here is the little blurb I posted as a comment on your site: Now you are onto a new topic: the history and role of psychiatry. A full response to that issue will need to wait until another time. You won't be surprised that I agree with parts, but also disagree with parts. Until the day when I get to this topic in more detail, however, let me state for the record that it's quite a stretch to say the practice of psychiatry stands as a replacement for the inquisition! I obviously can't dissuade you, but there are some weaknesses in the analogy (and you're going beyond analogy to contend it's serving the exact same purpose), to say the least.

Hi Will,

here's another reply I wrote. Thank you, too, for the conversation. It had me think, and I like to think. :)

Thank you Freda. So far there aren't that many readers, actually. Currently I get 60-100 unique visitors/day, but the majority are probably automated. Of course, I only started the blog at May's end, and have only really applied myself for two weeks. If I do it for 6-12 months and still have a light readership, I'll rethink my activity. But right now I am patient. I would not be too bothered if someone attacked my position; it would be more upsetting to be ignored.

I appreciate the feedback on the 'roots' graphic. Just to clarify, then: is its background a different color than that of the whole page? I should just look like roots, not like a square with roots in it that stands out against the rest of the page. Thanks.

Sorry. I seem to jump to conclusions to readily. I misunderstood when you explained before. By all means, you must take care of yourself. Be well. I'll keep in touch.

I just think you should continue your blog as long as there are readers and you wish to continue. There will always be some differences of views (spice of life?) and probably many stresses cause people to stop blogging - a buildup rather than a single trigger. On WIE the roots appear black against a cream background. Cheers. Freda

abuse is really NOT why I signed off...it may have been a catalyst, but more than the abuse was the hundreds of seekers of SUPPORT...lovely, wonderful, people, many of whom I had the pleasure of helping.

the thing is, now I need help and support. And it's no longer enough to help others as it was for a long time. While I did get a ton of support from my readers, I also had to expend much too much energy in keeping up all that was created by that blog.

and so that's the whole real story...the trolls and abusers really only being a small part of why I left and not the biggest part either. I simply need to rest...I am bedbound and wheelchair bound now after all and it's from exhaustion.

I was working between 40 and 80 hours a week easily in that condition. THAT is insane. I need to take care of myself.
