When one path ends and another begins. Acceptance is one of the hardest things to learn - for me anyway. I am trying to accept that life is always in flux.

I am glad that you decided on giving life another chance.

Freda--
Yes, luckily, things are better. The past decade has been a nightmare, much of the time. Terrible feelings of loss, futility, and failure. There have been many 'false starts' at new careers, which also went nowhere, just adding to the downward pressure on my self-esteem. But starting in 2006, when I fired the psychiatrist who took on my case after I left the hospital where they put me when I almost did decide to 'end it all', my life (and even my self esteem) have been slowly improving. Radically reducing the number and amount of medications I take has been a big help: I can actually think clearly again. But also learning cognitive tools to see things in a less bleak way, meditating, and working on acceptance. I still have no 'career', but at least I now write on a regular basis. That helps me feel productive, and gives me a way to express some of my feelings. The emotional storm I've been suffering settles down when I can write about my experience. Doing so is helped by having people actually read and comment on what I write--like you. So in that way you have helped me cross over that shaky, collapsing bridge, and onto more solid earth.

Thank you, Milo. It was a very hard day. Followed by a difficult decade. Luckily, things have been slowly improving for the past 3 years or so. I wouldn't have started this blog project if I did not feel like I've finally begun to learn from it all. The tears were vital. Still are. You are so kind.

all my love to Mandy as well. God bless her, she sounds like the most beautiful person.
